I am an Assistant Professor in Finance at the Alberta School of Business, University of Alberta.
I am interested in how imperfections in labor markets and political institutions affect the allocation of financial capital in the economy. Thus, my research focus lies at the intersection of corporate finance, labor economics, and political economy.
Examples of broad research questions that I seek to answer include:
- How do labor market barriers related to immigration policy affect firms’ demand for capital?
- How do political incentives affect the benefits and funding policies of public pension plans?
- Does political competition affect politicians’ incentives to acquire financial resources for their constituents?
I currently teach undergraduate courses at the University of Alberta.
